40 x 30 inches oil on canvas. Painted from a B&W photo of the Nigerian Civil War. I don't know who owns the photograph. I searched but could not find information about the owner. I would hope that they would be ok that I painted it as closely as I could to make it look just like the photo, but in color. To me this is a timeless image perfectly portraying the essence of war. The soldier appears to be too ashamed and devastated to look up at the camera.
